AccessiSight vs WAVE
WAVE is an excellent free visual tool for checking a page as you work. AccessiSight is built for scanning whole sites, tracking progress over time and generating conformance reports.
WAVE (Browser Extension): A popular visual evaluation tool by WebAIM. If you're evaluating WAVE for accessibility testing or ADA/WCAG compliance work, here's how it compares to AccessiSight across features, cost, and what each is actually built to do.
WAVE
Pros
- Highly visual feedback
- Free browser extension
- Created by WebAIM
Cons
- The free tools check one page at a time
- Site-wide results come from the paid, one-time AIM report ($500 for up to 20,000 pages) or a partner product (Pope Tech), not WAVE itself
AccessiSight Advantage
AccessiSight includes full-site crawling, scheduled scans, historical dashboards and VPAT/ACR reports in the same self-serve tool as its page-level checks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use both WAVE and AccessiSight?
Yes. Many developers use WAVE for quick visual checks while they code, and AccessiSight for full-site scans, regression tracking and CI/CD.
Does WAVE generate VPAT or ACR compliance reports?
WAVE's tools report accessibility errors and alerts; we found no VPAT/ACR document generator among them. AccessiSight generates VPAT 2.5 / ACR reports for WCAG, Section 508 and EN 301 549 editions from scan results, which should still be reviewed by a person before you rely on them.
