Accessible Canada Act (ACA)
Federal Canadian law (Bill C-81) requiring federally regulated organizations to identify and remove accessibility barriers, publish accessibility plans and run a feedback process. The ICT benchmark is CAN/ASC-EN 301 549:2024 (WCAG 2.1 AA). The Treasury Board Standard on Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA) was rescinded on 2026-03-02. Regulations registered in December 2025 (SOR/2025-255) require web pages to conform to that standard within 24 months for the federal public sector and 36 months for private-sector organizations with 100 or more employees.
