KE PWD Act 2025Kenya

Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025 (Act No. 4 of 2025), ss.26-27

Kenyan law requiring public and private institutions to provide information for the public, including through the internet, in accessible formats and technologies, and financial services (including online services and mobile money) to be accessible (s.27). Non-compliance can lead to licence suspension. Minimum accessibility standards are still to be set under s.30(3). The law requires accessibility but names no WCAG version or level; this profile uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the current version, as a benchmark. Meeting it is strong evidence of accessibility but is not, by itself, legal compliance.
