MK Law 193/2025North Macedonia

Law on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Institutions (Official Gazette No. 193/2025)

North Macedonian law requiring public-sector websites and mobile apps to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust, with an accessibility statement, monitoring by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and fines for the responsible person. The law transposes the EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102) but names no WCAG version or level; the technical conditions are left to a minister’s bylaw, not published on 1 October 2026. This profile uses WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the level of EN 301 549 V3.2.1 that the directive relies on, as a benchmark. Meeting it is strong evidence of accessibility but is not, by itself, legal compliance.
