In Rajive Raturi v. Union of India (8 November 2024) the Supreme Court also directed the government to make its accessibility rules mandatory.

The ICT benchmark is CAN/ASC-EN 301 549:2024 (WCAG 2.1 AA). The Treasury Board Standard on Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA) was rescinded on 2026-03-02. Regulations registered in December 2025 (SOR/2025-255) require web pages to conform to that standard within 24 months for the federal public sector and 36 months for private-sector organizations with 100 or more employees.

Private services covered by the European Accessibility Act (D.Lgs. 82/2022) follow AgID’s EAA guidelines adopted in March 2026 (Determinazione 38/2026), also based on EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1.

The report filter and the Israel VPAT apply these changes. VAT-exempt dealers and businesses with average annual turnover of NIS 100,000 or less are exempt.
